Welcome to my open heart-space that holds all things that make me who I am (relery). I am a soul-searching, animal and Earth-loving, conversation-craving, music-making, foodie fitness-doer on a mission to be a part of what makes the world, myself, and others BETTER. I don't want to make ripples; I want to create waves that knock you off your feet so that when you stand back up and look around, you find that things might look different.
On The Surface:
I graduated from Michigan State University with my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Specialization in Health Promotions in 2013, moving forward to obtain my Master's Degree from Grand Valley State University which allowed me to become a Licensed and Registered Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan. Throughout school, I developed a love for fitness and instruction, gaining opportunities to coach large bootcamp and Crossfit classes within my local community. This is where my worlds began to collide, and I am now a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Fitness Coach working within a variety of settings and populations, including those with neurological and auto-immune disabilities. I am also a local community dog sitter because I love animals and want to expose myself to as many accounts of cuteness as possible!
Behind the Scenes:
un·tamed
/ˌənˈtāmd/
adjective
"To Empower and Encourage" - this is my ethos. I'm committed to a lifelong practice of opening hearts and eyes wider (including my own) by digging up the dirt. Diving into the "tough stuff" from the very start. I'm not interested in living life on it's surface; in fact, I refuse to. I grab my shovel daily, and encourage others to do the same. I have a deep desire to connect with as many humans as I possibly can while I am here. You can typically find me at local coffee shops or outdoors, sharing stories and space with friends and strangers -- yes, I'll be at the table where the tears are being shed. And no, that doesn't mean I'm sad.
I am unapologetically, myself. And yet that is still difficult for me not to apologize for, sometimes.
When the blinds are closed and the lights are off, I am in constant self-examination, figuring out how I can better myself so that I can better impact the world and people around me. I feel everything with great intensity, all the time (good & bad, curse and a blessing).
I've created this space to share my heart, my mind, my soul, things I've learned, experiences that have built me and ALL of the in-betweens to encourage an open floor. We can't see ourselves in the dark. And I wasn't created to exist in the shadows.
